Gainsville Ska-Punk rockers Less Than Jake announce a contest for their fans on the band’s facebook page.
An announcement has been handed down by TCNJ CUB representative Jillian Polak that All Time Low has been “locked in,” to headline The College’s Winter Concert. There were rumors that the under-card would carry Cold War Kids, but, according to Polak the band could not commit. Polak also mentioned that there are still three acts under consideration to fill the final slot. More on that to come.

Tickets are on sale for Phish’s upcoming tour. Mercer County, NJ native Trey Anastasio and company will return to the Garden State by way of Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on October 29th. Tickets are $60.
Reel Big Fish has released another greatest hits album, this time a two-disc edition. Disc one features 22 classic Fish tracks, all re-recorded because their former label, Jive Records, owns the rights. Disc two is a 14-track collection of (ska)coustic songs. The album actually came out in July and is exclusively being sold in Best Buy outlets for $7.99, a great deal if your into that sort of thing…which I am.

Weezer has released the official music video for the single off its upcoming album Hurley. “Memories,” featuring the cast of Jackass, premiered yesterday on the MTV website at 5:00 p.m. and after about 15 minutes the video was taken down and marked as “not available.” Too many people watching at once I suppose. Anyway the video is back up and you can now watch “Memories”.
The Flaming Lips and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti will be on tour together September 18th to October 1st. This is the official tour poster according to the Flaming Lips’ twitter account.

The College of New Jersey’s CUB (College Union Board) announces its first semester music schedule.
The ultimate band competition has arrived. With thousands of dollars in prizes (averaged at $30,000) on the line — including 80 hours of studio/recording time, 1,000 unit album pressings, a set of 3 matching amplifier combos in custom hardwood enclosures, a personalized merch line of t-shirts, stickers, and fliers, and a chance to be featured on Metromix — The Metromix BreakThru is setting a new standard for emerging musicians looking to score big.
Best of all, registration and entry to event is completely FREE. No joke.
So here’s how it works: Each month from September to February we’ll be choosing 10 bands from the online submissions, creating profiles for each on Metromix where viewers and fans can vote for their favorite. The 10 featured bands will be given voting cards to distribute and promote themselves during each month’s online voting period. The 5 bands who receive the most online votes will move on to perform at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch, NJ.
The first live competition will be October 7, 2010, and will take place the first Thursday of every month through February. One band from each show will advance to the finals in March. Judging will be based on musicianship, originality of music, crowd draw, and stage presence.

The first video off of Slash’s #1 Rock Album SLASH, which hit retail in April and has received rave reviews worldwide, has been converted into full 3D, it was announced today in a joint statement by San Diego-based 3D Production & Conversion studio PassmoreLab & Slash.
The 5-minute rock music video, “By The Sword”, is the first single off the album and the first video ever from Slash to be released in 3D. It features the vocals of Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother, and the ever-present blistering guitar work from Slash. The 3D video was released internationally on September 2nd.
Tickets are still available, as low as $12, for the first annual Atlantic City International Film and Music Festival spanning from September 8-12, with headlining acts Wale and Fishbone.
