Ace Of Cakes Is An Ace On Bass, Duff Goldman Visits TCNJ

Duff Goldman of ...soihadto...

According to Duff Goldman, in an interview with TCNJ’s The Signal, he made cakes to  monetarily support his music career.  The star of Ace of Cakes now fronts the Experimental jam band …soihadto…  Now don’t take this the wrong way.  Goldman isn’t a true band leader because, well, there is none.  He holds the title  due only to his other successful professional ventures.  There is no vocalist, no star studded axe-man, no drugged-out member of the foursome that grabs headlines for falling off the stage.  It’s a group of friends that stands upon the stage, sometimes they sit, and strategically solos off one another for 10-minutes at a time:

It’s calculated chaos and if I had to place into a genre that wold definitely be Metal of the Heavy and Progressive types.

While experiencing …soihadto…, which it truly is, the music struck me as something Coheed & Cambria would cook up, most similar to the songs found on The Second Stage Turbine Blade.  You can judge for yourself.

“The Moon Under Which We Met” by …soihadto…

“Please Friends, Warn Me If They Agree” by …soihadto…

...soihadto...

The pair of tracks above are off the band’s debut album Adventure Stories (Not Based On Fact?). You can hear the rest on …soihadto…’s Myspace page. It’s definitely worth a listen.
