New Music Review: Beady Eye’s Latest Single “The Roller”

Every album needs its made for radio single and “The Roller,” for lack of a better phrase, fills that roll. Beady Eye’s first single off its upcoming debut, Different Gear, Still Speeding, is not “John Lennon-esque” as Facebook fans of the band have called it.  Let’s not make it to be more than it is, a series of couplets with forced end rhyme played out over a repetitive Pop-Rock guitar riff.  Radio DJs are going to have a field day with “The Roller.”  It will spin hourly on stations around the world because its musical and thematic simplicity make it forgettable and ignorable, yet it sounds pleasant enough so listeners won’t switch to a different preset.

I’d love to hear what you think.  Leave a comment if you want.
