“Peg O’ My Heart” by Dropkick Murphys (feat. Bruce Springsteen)

The latest Dropkick Murphys album, Going Out In Style, is set for a March 1st release and is arguably the best record the outfit has produced in its 15-year existence (read SIMGE’s review here).  The record features a slew of great songs including a collaboration with Bruce Springsteen.  Ken Casey, the only remaining founding member of The Murphys, trades verses with The Boss on “Peg O’ My Heart,” an upbeat Celtic-Punk rendition of a track penned nearly a century ago.

“Silver Linings” by Green Paper

The Piscataway/Cranford Physchadelic-Rock act recently held an album release party in the basement of their musical hub in Ewing for the outfit’s debut record Fire, which made SIMGE’s Top Album’s Of 2010 list as a digital release.  The 10-track collection is an impressive inaugural work which the band does have for sale via a message on Facebook…here’s a sample of the group’s work.

“Annie In Stereo” by Rick Barry (of No Wine For Kittens)

Rick Barry, front-man of the Asbury Park Indie-Rock outfit No Wine For Kittens, has released a heart breaking tale of lost love.  The song is as beautiful as it is heart breaking and words can’t really do it justice.

“Love I Have For You” by Amanda Duncan

Monmouth County’s own Pop-Folk songstress Amanda Duncan recently returned from a trip to St. Louis where she attended the National Association of Campus Activities convention.  While there she performed to a packed auditorium in an attempt to start touring the countries’ colleges and universities on the back of her 2009 release Love I Have For You.  I’m a huge fan of this work, especially the title-track.

“Wreckless” by Finale Hill

This collection of young guns from Millstone play a soulful brand of Hard-Rock that caught the ear of Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets, who added the budding rock stars to its inaugural Asbury Rocks! party at The Wonder Bar last month.  I expect big things to come.  You can grab Finale Hill’s EP The Basement Sessions Vol. 2, released earlier this month right here.
