Outside The Box & Southside Johnny To Perform Elvis Costello Debut

The Stone Pony house band and local favorite Outside The Box announced on Sunday that during its headlining gig tomorrow night [Wednesday June 1st], a show which features Billy Walton, Northbound Minstrel Jug Band, and The Joe Miller Band, the Asbury Roots-Rock four-piece would be performing Elvis Costello’s classic debut record My Aim Is True from start to finish…

…However, as an added bonus, the group will be joined by Southside Johnny and his long time pianist Jeff Kazee for the occasion.

According to a press release, the evening of homage to Costello is the first in a series of tribute performances slated by Outside The Box, including future dates (yet to be announced) dedicated to The Band’s The Last Waltz, Tom Petty’s Damn The Torpedoes, and a special showing devoted to the music of John Mayer.

Outside The Box is also close to finishing it’s debut full-length record so stay tuned for updates on that and be sure to check out this special night of music on the Boardwalk…

NOTE: Doors are at 7 p.m., Outside The Box will take the stage at 9:15 p.m. before giving way to Billy Walton at 11 p.m…tickets are $10 ($5 with valid college ID) at the door.  Don’t miss it.
