Root Glen Releases Debut EP In Time For “Summer”

Root Glen, the East Brunswick Alternative Rock outfit that recently shared the stage at Jimbo’s Bar & Grille with James Arlowe & the Ruffian Circus and Sinsanity during the Seaside Music Festival, released its official debut EP, Summer, on Saturday with a Facebook message that read:

“IT’S HERE!!! Since this weekend is the unofficial start of Summer, there’s no better time to get the season’s official soundtrack in your hands… Download it, play it on the way to the beach, and make sure you get to Rolf’s Restaurant & Pub for the release party next Saturday, June 4!”

The band’s latest record adds three new songs to a pair of previously released, but not nearly as crisp and complete, tracks from the group’s 2010 demo Petrified Whale.

“Mileage,” the opening salvo, and “In Some Time,” are matured final products of year-old blueprints, and, although both have aged well, it’s the former that bears the sweetest ear candy, like the the most enticing of Cold War Kids tunes had some southern guitar grooves and funk rubbed upon it…take a listen below:

As mentioned prior, head out to Rolf’s Restaurant & Pub on Saturday night and grab a physical copy of Summer at the release party…and in the meantime, head here to get a free download of the Root Glen’s debut EP.
