All Chris Brown references aside, I’m pleased to announce that sooner rather than later, we will all be gettin’ paper.
On Thursday, the Western New Jersey-based Psychedelic-Rock outfit, The Paper Suns, brought its basement honed chops to the Lakehouse Music studio in Asbury Park to begin work on the group’s debut studio release.
The harmoniously focused three-piece completed drums and guitars on “Over Water,” “The Great Garden State,” and the band’s latest release “Red Horse,” all of which can downloaded for free here.
The Paper Suns will re-enter Lakehouse Music studios, with Producer Jon Liedersdorf and Engineer Erik Romero (formerly of the defunct TCNJ-based collective, The Pour Player) at the helm, toward the end of the month.

Also in the studio this weekend is the Hazy, Pug Lovin’, Pop-Rock collective Green Paper, taking care of pre-production for its sophomore full-length release Water.
It appears as if the listening public can expect the finished product sometime in the early months of 2012, which would make its release nearly a year after the group’s debut, Fire, which dropped in February.
Green Paper recently released an official single for the album named “Stream Dream” that was recorded in the Virginia-based studio of Mark Padgett, also known as the bass plucker in Mae. Although a glossy and pristine product was bred from that trek south, the band’s fuzz slinging, six-string bandit, Jeff Lane, was quoted in a recent SIMGE story saying that the latest version of “Stream Dream” would not be on the final pressing, opting instead to find a happy medium between the refined piece of ear candy and ghostly fog drenched original (both are included upon donwload here).
Despite where the single my have been done it appears Green Paper will stay home for the rest of the album as the band’s pre-production work is being done in the studio of “Bad Dad Doctor” Chris Baglivo and “Rad Lad Sheriff” Evan Bernard, the pair that put out Fire and are currently in the Punkstep outfit Skateboards, with an additional pair of ears being lent by Alex Wilson of the Phillie-based duo Gypsy Death & You.
Stay tuned for more.
