Venue: The Stone Pony

Time: Doors at 7:30 p.m. (Outside The Box at 9 p.m.)

The Stone Pony house band and beloved Boardwalk favorite of the old school and the new guard, Outside The Box, will walk the weathered planks on Wednesday night en route to The Stone Pony where it will pay homage one of the men, and his crew, that helped make Asbury Park’s East Side so famous…Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.

After the 9 p.m. firework extravaganza on the water, Outside The Box will take the stage inside The Pony where it will perform a series of original pieces, mainly from the band’s recently released debut full-length Bridge, as well as The Boss’ 1973 sophomore record The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle.

“This is the album that introduced us to Springsteen’s music,” said Outside The Box lead singer Jeff Cafone.  “It’s concise and powerful, and we couldn’t be more proud to perform it at The Stone Pony.”

Wednesday evening marks the seventh night of tribute Outside The Box has held during this Summer residency at The Pony following such past selections as Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True, Tom Petty’s Damn The Torpedoes, Bob Dylan’s Blonde on Blonde as well as songs from The Band, Credence Clearwater Revival and The Allman Brothers.

Special guests like Southside Johnny Lyon, Joe Grushecky and Jeff Kazee, the producer of Bridge, have all joined Outside The Box on-stage the during this summer residency…and with an event of this magnitude, who knows what members of the Asbury Park music community might show up.  Just make sure you do.
