This afternoon Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes will roll past Asbury Park on its way to Lake Como and Bar Anticipation to play it’s yearly performance in support of WFAN sports analyst Mike Francessa and Mike Francessa Day.

These days, Francessa is quite ornery on air, lashing out at callers, dismissing many of their questions and comments as ueducated, and unable to take their criticism of some inane points of his own.  The show itself, a staple in the lives of many, including the better part of my own, has been noticeably worse since Francessa’s long time partner, the Marquis, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, left for the greener pastures of satellite radio, leaving the show’s sole host to run amuck unchecked.

But that isn’t what today is about, not for us anyway.  This is about a group of men who put the Jersey Shore music scene on the map.  So come on out and enjoy the festivities.
