HELP: Today, rumors began to surface around town that The Saint’s beloved bear head, formerly located within it’s artist hospitality room, had been stolen.
Then, at 3:15 p.m. Scott Stamper, the owner of the famed music club, announced that the reports were true by posting a statement of his own:
“HELP WANTED: Reward for information leading to the safe return of The Saint’s beloved Bear Head. Last seen in The Saint’s Green Room this month. A list of all bands who played The Saint this month will be provided upon request. Serious inquiries only. Thx in advance for any all help regarding this matter. Thanks to all able and willing to keep your eyes peeled and help out with our rescue mission.”
Communal outcry over the theft was immense with one of the Boardwalk’s most prominent Singer/Songwriter’s decree best encompassing it all.
“I need to know the last time you saw it [bear head] and every band that has played since then,” wrote Rick Barry to Stamper. “Locating the bear head has become my new sacred crusade.”
And so it is for the entire Asbury Park Music Community.
