Asbury Rock Stars Charity Softball Is Cancelled, Moved To Johnny Mac’s

The 5th Annual Asbury Rock Stars Charity Softball, which was interrupted by Hurricane Irene on August 27th, has yet again been deterred by the elements.  The game, which was scheduled to take place at Ike Willis Field in Neptune tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. has been canceled.

That being said, a gathering has been set up by the charity thanks to the more than generous folks at Johnny Mac’s on Main Street in Asbury Park that will run from 12-6 p.m. with $1 beer specials and FREE PIZZA!!!

Funds will still be raised, prizes will still be distributed, Russo Music will still be raffling off the most beautiful Gibson Acoustic you’ve ever laid eyes on, and good times will still be had by all…just leave your gloves and cleats at home.

As put by Rick Barry: “I’ll be all the fun of the Asbury Rock Stars Charity Softball Tournament without actually having to watch musicians play softball.”

It has not yet been announced if any live musical performances will take place, but, that being said, there will be a large number of local favorites in an enclosed space with at least one beautiful acoustic guitar on hand…anything could happen.
