Last Wednesday evening, Red Bank’s finest musical hub, The Downtown, hosted the Hacketstown-based Hard-Rock outfit Only Living Boy and Ruby The Hatchet, an equally electrifying act that recently relocated to Neptune City, NJ via Philadelphia.

Both group’s have released new music this year, the former a debut full-length dubbed Hide Nothing, and the latter a self-titled debut EP.  And, apparently, the tunes will continue to flow as both collectives premiered a pair of raucous numbers which SIMGE captured for your viewing pleasure below:

Front-man Joe Cirotti told show patrons that “Superstitious Angel” will be recorded as a single, possibly with “Spread Your Butter” as a B-side, sometime in the near future, maybe even as soon as the end of November.

New Song by Ruby The Hatchet

Unlike Cirotti, no recording schedule was discussed by Ruby The Hatchet songstress Jillian Taylor.  However, the band’s new headquarters could result in more area dates in the near future, so do stay tuned for developments in both areas.

As for scheduled dates, Ruby The Hatchet will head back to its old stomping grounds for a performance at Kung Fu Necktie on November 26th and again on December 2nd at The Fire.

Only Living Boy is still recuperating from a national tour with Saint Bernadette but is slated to play The Old Bay in New Brunswick on Saturday night (November 5th) and will also perform a short set at The Asbury Music Awards on November 13th, hosted by the West Side’s most hallowed house of music, The Stone Pony.
