  2. “JACKO” FOR BEST PROMOTER WHO ALSO SPEAKS POETRY OVER IMPROVISED MUSIC.
EVERYONE VOTE AFTER ME AND DO THIS!

  3. I’m with Her! I hereby cast my VOTE as well! Jacko should get a lifetime achievement award for puting on great shows at the Brighton Bar for the last 20+ years! He’s been doing it for over two decades and was just weaned out of the place to make room for a new promotional company. These things happen, but his departure should not go unnoticed!

Although I have never met Jacko, from what I’ve read, from what I’ve heard, from what has been told to me by the members of our artistic community, I support this movement in full. Jacko epitomizes what this society is all about. The area in which we reside is more than a series of venues for creatives to showcase their work…it’s a support system where we take care of our own. And this year, it only seems right to recognize a visionary, an original staple in our community, Jacko.

Join the movement. Leave a comment. Make your voice hear heard.

    GIVE JACKO the PLAQUE-O!!!

  6. My vote is in for Jacko as well!

  7. Claudia Matos says:

I vote Jacko for the lifetime achievement award! He deserves it!

  8. Mike Noordzy says:

fuck yeah! JACKO, though he’ll never accept any award from this “weak ass asbury bullshit”

  9. jlh says:

i can’t imagine Jack wanting any part in this, but you can vote for his band Milky Chicken Spit in the Avante Garde genre and he might at least get a kick out of it.

  10. Tracey says:

My vote for Top Young Band goes to Aurora!! This “all girl” band can really rock!! They have a great sound that goes back to that classic rock and roll era. They can really “rock like the boys”! The songwriting is amazing, they are not your typical girly band! Check em’ out!!

  11. Kiki C says:

Little Jimmy & Midnight Son rock!! I’m so happy they were nominated!! Check them out @ http://www.midnightson.net

  12. Amanda M says:

I vote for Jacko for a Lifetime Achievement Award & Poet Laureate & Top Promoter. He has been a friend to me over the years and I consider him family. His devotion to the local music & poetry scene is nothing short of legendary. He’s mentored and inspired and befriended most of the nominees on this ballot.

Fyi – a new ballot was issued – one with the correct spelling of names.

Asbury Music Awards/Pat each other on the back awards. What’s the point?

The Asbury Music Awards Gala is a wonderful community building activity of musical and artistic expression that brings recognition to those contributing to our scene. Don’t be mean, don’t be bitter, join us and be part of it all…and if you’re going to post something negative, have the grapes to sign your real name. Anonymity is cowardly.
