In case anyone’s lost site of the fact that Asbury Lanes is ground zero for Garden State Punk-Rock, Asbury’s premier 10-pin penthouse house and music locale has booked performances by DJ “The Pete” (Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls), the Boardwalk-based Indie-Punk supergroup Black Wine, and a special New Years Eve party featuring legendary New Brunswick basement dwellers The Ergs!
After Friday evening’s homecoming gala for The Gaslight Anthem inside the Asbury Convention Hall, DJ “The Pete” will be spinning at the unofficial after party. Doors open at 10 p.m. and there is no cover charge if you come with a Gaslight ticket stub (from that night’s show) in hand, but there is a $5 fee if you don’t. $10 all you can bowl.
Two nights later (Sunday December 11th) Black Wine, which is composed of Jeff Schroek (The Ergs!), J. Nixon (Hunchback), and Miranda Taylor (Full Of Fancy), will perform alongside The Scarlet Letter, Bible Thumper, and The Grains to celebrate DJ Jay Insult’s 31st birthday…doors are at 8 p.m. and the cover TBD…check out Black Wine’s 2011 full-length, Summer Of Indifference, here.
Finally, The Ergs! will perform On New Years Eve. The aforementioned Punk greats will host a holiday party that starts at 8 p.m. and doesn’t end until the sun comes up. More details on this performance are coming soon.
