The Woodbridge, NJ Indie-Rock soundscape construction crew that is Old Nick recently released the lead single off I’ve Seen Colors, the outfit’s forthcoming debut full-length release.
“The River,” as well as the record it resides upon, was recorded at The Machine Shop in Hoboken, NJ and follows the same subdued Ambient-Rock model in which Old Nick operates, save for final barrage of charred guitar chords and pounding stick work this number contains, continually building up upon itself to an unsustainable level, eventually coming in for crash water landing of alluring proportions.
I’ve Seen Colors is scheduled for a January 14th with a celebratory showcase at The Court Tavern. More details on that show will come shortly, so stay tuned. However in the meantime, check out Old Nick tonight at The Whiskey Bar in Hoboken where the group will share a stage with the Toms River, NJ outfit Temporary Grace in support of the latter’s guitar maestro Chuck Epperly. Doors for the event open at 8 p.m. with a cover/donation of $15 due upon entrance.
