LOD 12: Best Acoustic Act…Eryn Shewell

Photo removed due to its consensus hideousness…

Day 3 – The Wonder Bar: Perched atop a platform no higher than a few slabs of cardboard to the right of The Wonder Bar’s main stage, the Hightstown, NJ songstress Eryn Shewell, accompanied by her lead guitar maestro, Pat Ruh, plucked through a series of acoustic pieces between sets.  Had it been your average musician, audience members may have started for the suds, dismissing the side set completely.  However it’s Shewell’s Pop sensibilities, her fusion of Jazz and Blues guitar, but mostly by her brand of rolling vocals that washed over the congregation like a wave of jubilation drawing them nearer and more attentive with each breath.  Look no further than Shewell’s 2011 Asbury Music Award for Top Female Vocalist for concurrence.
