LOD 12: Best Indie-Rock Performance…Wyldlife

Night 2 – Asbury Lanes: The Jersey City-based Wyldlife ventured down to Asbury Lanes on Friday night and proceeded to blow the doors off the place using a 10-song palette of  jangle guitar-led, grit infused, Garage-Punk to paint pictures of late night jaunts in some of New York City’s finest haunts, such as the aptly titled “Lit Lounge,” an ode of sorts to the the dingy night club and the lusty ladies who frequent it.  The four-man four-man collective was the only group that evening to be called back to the stage by the party’s host, Rich Russo, for an encore, evidence to how enthralling the performance was.

Honorable Mention…

No Wine For Kittens: One of Asbury’s finest Indie-Rock collectives, No Wine For Kittens, helped open the Light Of Day Festival with a seven-song set of equally distributed beauty and exuberance, with a alluring touch of Surf-Rock, sent crashing into the late night assemblage of Saint patrons.  The various selections should appear as a singular collection, accompanied by a few other numbers, on the outfit’s forthcoming debut full-length release, which is slated to get the vinyl treatment according the band’s bass plucker Justin Bornemann, with a tentative release date in April.  Stay tuned for more on that.
