In the wee hours of an August 14th morn, Asbury’s own Atlantic, Atlantic, fronted by Brad York (Sikamor Rooney, Low Flying Jets), backed by the brothers Villapiano (Nick on bass, Mike on the guitar) and marched forth by local renaissance-man Wills Weller on the throne, perfromed what was said to be its final song, “Bastard On Fire,” handed out the last of its merch, and said goodbye The Saint’s faithful assemblage…
On January 11th a photo emerged (above) via Facebook featuring Atlantic, Atlantic recording somewhere (HDH ?) with someone (P Ritchie ?) with the promise of a five-song EP to be released when the outfit is finished in the studio.
I’d like to think SIMGE naming Atlantic, Atlantic’s 2011 self-titled EP as No. 2 on its list of favorites from last year had something to do with is reformation, but we’re just excited these guys are back.
Be sure to check out York with Low Flying Jets as on Saturday at The Saint with Chemtrail and Fifty Year Storm as the front-man’s original group makes it’s return Asbury Park debut after ending a long hiatus last week at Maxwell’s.
