Holmdel’s Decks Emerge From Months Of Silence With A New EP

By Chris Rotolo, The Creator

Holmdel, NJ’s haze-encased fuzz-mortar, Decks, are a living, breathing band in the sense that every few months the four-man Indie-Pop outfit will emerge via social media outlets to announce information like its members have decided to remove the preceding “The” from their monicker.

However, on Tuesday (January 31st), a little more than one year after the release of its debut EP, Your Sucha Deck, the group posted a five-track collection of lo-fi tunes titled Helix Street, a cavernous compilation that, at its purest, is woven from the same fabric as worked by Grizzly Bear with Animal Collective electronics intertwined, but more rash, rugged, and raw, placing it amongst SIMGE’s list of favorites in this young new year.

Grab the lead single, “Ghost Girl,” below, download the rest of Helix Street for free here, and stay tuned for more news concerning Decks…they might play a show someday, and you won’t want to miss it.
