The Garden State’s most legendary Punk collective, The Bouncing Souls, have declared June 12th the official release date of its ninth studio full-length, a 10-song collection entitled Comet, that Pete “The Pete” Steinkopf is rather enthused about.

“I haven’t been this excited since I discovered beer,” said the famed guitar maestro via press release.

Comet will be distributed by both the group’s own Chunksaah Records as well as the Portland. Oregon-based Rise Records, a label that has reportedly won over The Souls by sending the outfit a box of donuts from Portland’s own Voodoo Donuts (again, according to that press release).

The compilation was produced by the equally legendary stick wielder Bill Stevenson (The Descendants, Black Flag) who’s worked with the likes of Hot Water Music, Rise Against, The Swellers, The Casualties, NOFX, Mustard Plug, The Lemonheads, Suicide Machines, A Wilhelm Scream, Anti-Flag, MXPX, Lagwagon, The Ataris, and many more.

The Bouncing Souls latest single, “Static,” is a call to turn down your radio so as not to be influenced by the media and government’s fear and greed campaigns…which is strange because the ultimate goal is to have your lead single get radio play, but if its turned down you won’t hear it…whatever.  Only turn on your radio to hear this song, then turn it off again.  Or you can just check it out below, then buy the record and bypass all those payola-currupted DJs.

04. Coin Toss Girl

And be sure to see The Bouncing Souls return to the Boardwalk on May 20th when they help close out The Bamboozle Festival with Bon Jovi, Brand New, and more.  Tickets available here.
