Joe Makoviecki (Thomas Wesley Stern) Unearths Online Collection Of Solo Works, Songs From Past Projects, Covers, And New Tunes

On the morning of May 3rd, Thomas Wesley Stern’s JoeMakoviecki posted a link to a Soundcloud account named “jmakoviecki” revealing a treasure trove of interesting recordings via early music projects, other solo productions, and more.

The collection has a series of songs by a group named Spiral Stairs, including “On A Playground In A Park,” which was written in 2005 featuring Nadia Marie Bellott of Athens, GA (whom apparently Makoviecki has never formally met) from an LP named You And I Make A Good Team, which the songsmith has misplaced.  Also under the Spiral Stairs heading is “Some Island Song” that, according to Makoviecki’s description, is the first tune he and Gary Mayer wrote together.

The compilation also possesses songs from a prior solo project named Makoveskus like “Bring The List,” a humorous eight-minute epic constructed on the spot about a bad breakup the songwriter experienced when he was 13, as wells as a tune named “Towers” which Makoviecki penned in 2007 while with a band named The Boy Judas that included Mad Feather Group’s Roshane Karunarante

You can also check out a bunch of other solo works, covers of Lightning Hopkins and Sufjan Stevens, and “Edith’s Song (The Country Is Wide Open)” a number written specially for the 2012 4/20 holiday.

Check out the entire collection here and be sure to catch Thomas Wesley Stern on its forthcoming Summertime tour (complete list of dates TBA) that includes several European stops as well as upcoming performances at the Secret Country record release show on May 18th at The Donegal Saloon in Kerny, NJ and June 10th Irish Festival at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, NJ.
